PUPPY POLICY AGREEMENT/GUARANTEE
These are SOKOM Kennels policy guidelines, and are subject to update or change at any time. All SOKOM Kennels puppy owners will fall under the most recent policy. By signing your contract and accepting a VanValkenburg puppy, you are subject to this policy at all times. This agreement contains our health guarantee and other useful information. We cannot urge you strongly enough to keep in touch with us regarding the growth and development of your new puppy. While Veterinarians are useful in many areas of a dogs life, the Breeder has the experience with the growth, health, and development issues specific to the German Shepherd Dog. If at ANYTIME in its life the puppy is to be sold or given away, the Buyer shall so notify the Breeder and give the Breeder first option to take the puppy back. You can not have the dog euthanized without written permission from the Breeder. The exception to euthanasia would be in the case of severe injury or suffering on the part of the dog. No puppy shall be given up on and put into a shelter. All Buyers agree that if they find out they are unable to care for the puppy, again the breeder is to be notified immediately so that the Breeder can get the puppy returned. Every effort is made to deliver you a health/socialized puppy by providing you a puppy that is current on shots; has been wormed at least 1-2 times in accordance with age recommendation; and has been socialized with family members. There are, however, common element conditions present in many puppies, e.g worms, etc. The buyer acknowledges by acceptance of the puppy that the puppy appeared healthy and friendly at the time of acceptance. Thus, the buyer observed the puppy's movement and appearance that would indicate to the buyer that their puppy was happy and healthy. Buyers are instructed to take their puppy to their veterinarian with 72 hours of acceptance to verify the health status of their puppy and to continue the vaccination and worming schedule. Since the seller cannot control the socialization of the puppy after delivery, puppies that exhibit anxiety or nervousness will not be exchanged or money refunded. In almost all cases the puppy will exhibit how it is treated by the buyer. Seller will work with you to teach you techniques to overcome behavior problems. Buyers need to be aware that chewing and biting objects is a natural function of teething and the puppy will normally outgrow the chewing and biting once their adult teeth erupt. PLEASE NOTE: Your puppy that you receive with Sokom Kennels have not had their dew claws removed. It will be your soul responsibility, if you so to chose, to have them removed. Under no circumstance will the breeder be liable for tearing, loss of dew claw to digging and/or climbing/jumping. Important for all German Shepherds is hip and elbow certification. This is not a necessity for companion pups. It is a good idea just for the health of the puppy. As the Breeder would like to keep track and have knowledge of all the puppies health and this is one of them. The puppy is guaranteed to pass the x-ray certification between the ages of 1 to 2 years of age provided their has been no injury to the hip or elbows and females have not had a litter prior to 2 years of age. Hip and x-ray certification can be obtained by visiting the website www.gsdca-wda.org under forms. Buyer shall pay all costs of health testing. If your puppy does not pass the hip and elbow certification, a replacement puppy will be provIded by crediting your purchase price of your puppy to the current price of the replacement puppy. Replacement puppy means the seller has the option to have the puppy being replaced returned at the seller's expense. If the seller's vet determines that the hips/elbows were injured through abuse or accident, the buyer agrees to pay full price of the the replacement puppy. Thus, if only higher priced puppies are available due to titled parents or any other reason, your purchase price will be credited to the price of the new puppy, and you will be responsible for shipping cost if applicable. Buyer acknowledges that the dam and or/sire may receive additional titles after the litter from which they choose their puppy and current litter price is the cost of the replacement puppy less the price. This guarantee does not apply to discounted puppies and only applies to puppies for which full purchase price is paid. Only moderate or extreme hip/elbow rating will qualify for a replacement puppy. If the buyer uses the OFA for hip/elbow certification the seller may elect to follow the OFA guidelines to have the puppy's hip/elbows certified at 24 months in accordance with OFA recommendations. Once a replacement puppy is provided this satisfies the guarantee and the replacement guarantee does not extend to the replacement puppy. We also want to bring to attention of DNA testing. We have just started this with our breeding lines and have been impressed. When you receive your puppy you can test him for breed specific diseases, health and additional information about the ancestry. Here is the site that we use for testing. https://embarkvet.com/ Let us know if you have any questions about this or anything in regards to hip or elbow or any other health concerns. Buyer agrees to exercise normal care in maintaining this puppy's health. Stressing a pups' bones and joints by excessive exercise, jumping over elbow height or wearing before the growth plates are closed will null and void the hip warranty. No other guarantee is implied or intended unless specifically stated in this guarantee. Example, although the puppy may be identified as "show potential" no guarantee is offer that the will be titled as there are many variables that go into the training and judging a puppy beyond the control of the breeder. |
